New! Fascinator Friday Feature Starring Zaracarpenter

"The Sumptuous Wajamacalit Bird Hat"

Since I've run out of interesting things to say about myself, I've decided to start a weekly post featuring some of the amazing milliners I've run into on etsy. This, the maiden voyage, stars England's zaracarpenter. Zaracarpenter, who is also, intriguingly, a poet, keeps a dazzling shop full of sometimes romantic, sometimes darkly whimsical creations. Inspired by a range of people from artists to musicians and dancers, her work is inspiration in itself. Each piece is truly a work of art. I highly recommend browsing through her beautiful adornments:

Awesome Illustrator: Stephen Player

I recently checked out "The Illustrated Wee Free Men" by Terry Pratchett from my local library (if given a choice between illustrated or not, I will always take the pretty picture just slows down my reading a bit) and I am really impressed by the illustrator, Stephen Player. Most of his illustrations in the book are watercolor, which is a medium that frequently infuriates me, and he evokes color, texture and contrasting light and shadow for a masterful depiction of fantastical themes. Not to mention his amazing character sketches as exemplified by the tiny but fiesty Nac McFeegles above. I am currently wishing I had this kind of talent!

You can check out his portfolio at his website:
